The True TUC-48F-HC undercounter freezer maintains an average temperature of –10°F using a self-contained capillary tube system with R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant. Its evaporator and condenser fan motors ensure consistent airflow, reducing heat buildup and promoting energy efficiency. The evaporator features an epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, while the rear-access, slide-out condensing unit allows for easier cleaning and service.
To keep the condensing coil clean, the fan motor automatically reverses for 20 seconds each time the compressor starts. This reverse airflow helps clear dust and debris, improving coil performance and lowering energy usage. Routine preventive maintenance is still recommended to ensure long-term efficiency.
The freezer’s doors self-close when opened under 90 degrees to retain cold air, and stay open past 90 degrees to assist with loading and cleaning. Inside, four PVC-coated wire shelves hold stored items, and coved interior corners prevent debris buildup. The stainless steel exterior and aluminum interior are built for heavy commercial use, while foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation helps keep temperatures stable.
